Tree removal in the Hills District
Whole-tree removal by climbing arborists, with sectional dismantling where a tree can't be felled in one piece. Green waste chipped and removed the same day.
Get a free quoteMost Hills District removals are close to houses, fences, pools and neighbours' yards, so trees are taken down in sections and lowered on ropes rather than felled. A crew typically finishes a single large tree in a day, including chipping and clean-up.
Removal is the right call when a tree is dead, structurally unsound, lifting paving or foundations, or too close to a building to be pruned safely. If a tree can be kept with sensible pruning, we'll say so.
Many trees in The Hills Shire need council approval before removal. We'll tell you up front whether your tree is likely to need a permit and can help with the application.
Price guide
Small trees from around $500. Medium trees $1,000 to $2,500. Large or difficult-access trees $2,500 to $6,000+. Stump grinding is quoted separately. Every job is quoted on site at a fixed price.

Questions about tree removal
Do I need council approval to remove a tree?
Often, yes. The Hills Shire Council protects every tree unless it's exempt, for example within 5 metres of your house or a small tree of an exempt species. See our council approval guide, or ask us when you request a quote.
How long does a removal take?
A small tree can be gone in a couple of hours. Large trees near buildings usually take a full day. Timber and mulch are removed unless you'd like to keep them.
Are you insured?
All work is carried out by qualified arborists with public liability insurance. A copy of the certificate is available on request.
